Nature journaling is a means of connecting to where you are through art, writing, and observation. Nature journaling can include elements of drawing, writing, painting, collaging, and whatever else you may please! This event will include an overview of what nature journaling is/can be, observational skills, and the impact of what we choose to give our attention to.
For this event we will be spending part of the time together in a group, chatting and or sharing our observations, with two intervals where we will split off for individual journaling time around the park/garden.
People all ages and any skill level are welcome to join. You do not need to have any experience with drawing or nature observation to take part in nature journaling. If the group wants, I can also give drawing pointers— but this time is mostly to have fun and see what you might notice while journaling!
You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own supplies. If you would like supplies provided for an extra fee, please check that section on the registration form.
Journaling supplies you might bring:
- Sketchbook or unlined paper (mixed media or watercolor paper recommended if using watercolors)
- Pencil and or pen
- Colored pencils
- Watercolors
- anything else you like to make with! ex: crayons, markers, watercolor pencils, modeling clay
