About the Fantasies of Youth

The Fantasies of Youth by visual and fiber artist Elayna Sturm, translates dreams into something tangible. The Fantasies of Youth (FOY) combines elements of magical realism, Nature, folk and craft art, bold dreamy texts, and queer lineages into messages of hope and wonder to buoy hearts and spirits alike. FOY explores themes of “Sacred Devotion”, “Love/Grief”, and “Belonging” through symbolism and scenes of personal mythology. FOY dances between realms to encourage people to reach for one another, get to know themselves, and honor Earth’s gifts through awe and aliveness. Across the abundant channels of The Fantasies of Youth, there remains a common thread of transformational gratitude/gratitude for transformation. May we take comfort in change, and come together for the better through it all.
